What is the PDCA Cycle?

  • 2. Do

    At this stage, the plan is put into action.

    • Test the changes on a small scale before full implementation.
    • Train the employees involved to ensure proper execution.
    • Record all changes made for later analysis.

    Example: The company adjusts its logistics, reducing order processing times and modifying the delivery workflow.

  • 3. Check

    After implementation, it is essential to evaluate the results.

    • Compare the results with the established goals.
    • Analyze whether there were improvements or if new problems arose.
    • Identify necessary adjustments before standardization.

    Example: After testing the new logistics system, the company measures the average delivery time and checks whether there has been a significant reduction.

  • 4. Act

    If the results are positive, the new approach should be standardized and applied permanently.

    • If the plan was successful, formalize it as a new company process.
    • If the results were unsatisfactory, return to the “Plan” step and adjust the strategy.

    Example: The company establishes the new logistics model as the standard and trains the entire team to follow this process.

  • Check: The average waiting time is measured, and customer feedback is collected. Results show significant improvement.
  • Act: The new organization is permanently implemented and standardized across all teams.
